customer no-service

My Travelers insurance agent screwed things up and I called up Travelers customer service and told that all is resolved. When asking if they had sent anotice to our mortgage company and if we need to call them to avoid any confusion, we got a definetely NO.

Hompowever, immediately after that my home mortgage company sent us a letter saything that our home insurance policy will be cancelled and threat to establish the escrow account for us, you know what that exactly means - they pick the insurance and you pay the bill.

As this is not enough. Recently, last Wednesday 6/27 to be exact, my wife called at&t (yes this is new AT&T, we used to be with BellSouth) to upgrade our internet connection. She was told that it is TOO EARLY to order service to activated on July 1. She is so surprised but kind of agreed as this is NEW at&t. She was asked to call again 6/29 Friday. BTW, each call you have to waite 15-20 minutes. When calling at&t on Friday 6/29, she was told that it's too late to order in order to activate upgrade on 7/1. But she is willing bto expedite and service on 7/1 will be ready.

On 7/1, as you guessed it, service is not ready, and she was told it will not be upgraded until 7/3!

I called AT&T DSL for DSL connection problem many times and no one seems to know the reason why my connection dropped out. Each time I am given different reasons and the problem remains. Finally I get to a manager called Adrian and she said she will arrange a techinician to take a look at Friday 8:am-12:pm 6/29. My wife waited the entire morning no one showed up. So she called them again ( always remember, after 20-30 minutes ) to ask when the guy would be coming and was told the appointment was set up on 7/13! I swear Adrian told me that's tomorrow Fridat 6/28!

That is the world we are living, in a customer NO-service world, as Clard Howard put it.
